Much ado about wee

Three weeks ago we took a long day trip to the Brecon Beacons, Wales. Before we left I realised that for the past four years we have either been in Aylesbury, driven down to Hayling Island, or up to see SMD in Surbiton. Now I needed to prepare for a 4 hour journey each way and how was best to manage my wees. It certainly is made so much easier by the fact I have a Supra Pubic Catheter. The thought of managing a long journey and having to investigate where the public toilets were before setting off fills me with dread, especially if many toilets have been closed down because of the pandemic. I decided that it was best to take a night bag with me, before we set off hubby attached my night bag, this meant the only person who needed to stop for a wee was hubby. Having an SPC has made journeys so much easier. I realise this is not the case for many, but let me share my years of experience when it comes too loo management. First of all I recommend that everybody who has a blue badge obtains a Radar key, which enables you to unlock accessible toilets. You can get them through the County Council, however my first key was obtained by my employers, they did this as I had a job which meant I was regularly on the road and they felt it was their duty of care (shame all employers aren’t like that). These keys can also be obtained from the disability rights UK website, and the blue badge company, and because so many accessible toilets double up as a baby changing room, they can also be purchased from Amazon. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1hGzGU4or2G_Zq0P4PJX32aGpsbDausH7
So where are all these loos? It’s worth looking at the Great British public toilet map (toiletmap.org.uk), or if you want to broaden your search, download the app WheelMate.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1WDeH5NtYG7Drbl9kp5-fE8ffYWATtk0B

Now back to Wales. The journey was a wet one, but that was no great surprise but the scenery was magnificent.

Hubby was due to do his annual service and the client had often said I should come up with him, so here I was. The crazy thing was one hour later the lift had been serviced and we were making our journey home, another four hours. We did stop off for tea. The rest of my blog will be a picture one as I really do want to share with you the beautiful scenery.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1cpDUQuXPiktRXbQO9phQB-9jRuGrWiCp
