Quick the sun has come out!

As soon as hubby and I had finished our lunch yesterday the shoes were on, along with my thick poncho and scarf. The rain had finally stopped and the sun was shining brightly, we are so fortunate to live just one hundred yards from the sea front. Luckily we had watched from our patio windows that the sea defence had been repaired and therefore the path was clear.

It was great to see the sun but a little deceiving as it was still blinking cold! Although I cannot get onto the actual beach with my wheelchair I can get really close, great to see loads of people out (all socially distanced of course) especially the children as it is half term. The sea was lapping up and because the sun was so bright and the sky so clear we could see all the way over to West Wittering.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1lvNIUVSliezW8qpN3NZ2sa-kKVv_wqgD

After soaking up the sun we walked on a little further until my wheelchair wouldn’t let me go any further. I have to say how special this little island is one moment I am walking by the sea and the next we reach the nature reserve. That is where you could be forgiven if you thought you were in another part of the country because green grass and highland cows is all that can be seen!

Time to head home the wind is really blowing a gale but the sun is still shining.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1C9YCH1zB6CHZwErZCB7tYTZuDNfJxBBE

Back home and in the warm with a nice cup of tea, I sit down (no that’s wrong because I have been sat down the whole time), I get to finish our internet shopping.

It just so happened that one of my favourite television programs was on in the evening on channel 4, it is called Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig it’s such a good watch and hilarious at the same time.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1jh-35kph8QmCUewM5rMcjeTM2Ltpan8s
In last nights episode Sandi went to Camber Sands with Jessica Hynes and talked about the sea being so good for your well-being because of its negative ions. Well I thought I must include that in my next post but then I realised I don’t actually know what negative ions were! So thanks to Google here is the definition- negative ions increase the flow of oxygen to the brain resulting in higher alertness and decreased drowsiness and more mental energy.https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1LZ0kVuRCXDna4kv1G6LzS1oFJEe3VYnk

I really do hope that as spring is just round the corner there will be loads more sunshine and therefore lots more walks by the sea and of course I will get a higher dose of natural vitamin D as well as negative ions.

Fast forward to today and although no sun I feel so much better for my outing yesterday. Two positives for today firstly I had my medication review and spoke with the pharmacist at length, before we moved to Hayling Island my neurologist wrote a letter to my new doctor suggesting that an alternative to Carbomazapine was found for my TGN and perhaps an operation to sever the nerve, I am pleased to say that a referral has been made. My second piece of medical news for the day is I received a text asking me to book my vaccine, yippee! I went straight on to book it, I have to be honest and admit I can be such a child at times, hubby has already booked his vaccine for next Wednesday at 12pm he got his call before me because he is my Carer. Imagine my delight when I saw there was a slot at 11:40am on the same day, yes I did book that one so I could have mine first!  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_4OGjg8Hi0DladKVcL6MEXDII5YORAkx

So here’s to the weekend and more negative ions and plenty of vitamin D. Have a good one everybody.
